My design practice primarily focuses on editorial design, collage and photography. I am interested in the relationship between the analogue and digital and combining these to create a tension between the hand crafted and the mass produced.
In my most recent work I have focused primarily on the themes of memory and space. Growing up in the Netherlands and in Switzerland, my notion of home has transformed and greatly influenced my work. My work comments on the layers of meaning that represent domesticity, permanence, past and present.
In recent projects I have also worked collaboratively with another designer, Alice Rogers. The collaborative process combines our interest of travelling, but also alludes to a sense of displace. The combination of real and unreal images questions the attachment to reality in a foreign place, creating a dreamlike and utopian environment.
