The key ideal within my practice is to communicate something fun and playful. I love bright colours, the impact of dynamic shapes and interesting textures: accompanied by a sparkle of suggestion and a hint of humour. I enjoy investigating and exploring materials as well as conceptual ideas through objects that are curated into varying arrangements – often through the use of cocktail sticks and determination, or perhaps adhesive trickery to create a sense of intrigue. I work primarily through constructing scenes to be photographed however I also have a broad interest in patterns, textiles and crafting/ making. An element of importance within my current work is to generate spontaneity that allows freedom in my creativity, enabling a playful experimentation yielding unexpected and exciting results.
